Our homes,
additions and renovations are mostly "custom designed". What
this means is that we can build any plan that you may have or we can
assist you in getting a customized plan for you at a very reasonable price.
The custom design plan can start with
nothing more than the dreams in your head or can be as well defined as a full set of
working drawings that need to be "tweaked." Our staff can help you with these
needs. Any pictures, sketches, plans or thoughts we can use to design your dream home will
be appreciated.
As your plans
are developed, we review them
with you every step of the way. This way we can stay on course with your ideas of what the
finished product should be.
Step
1
The process starts with an interview where we
gather any information you may have. We make any appropriate suggestions which we think
can help.
Step 2
We begin to draw the first floor plan. We review the
first floor plan with you when the first draft is complete. We again make any suggestions
that we think can help.
Step 3
You make your changes, if any, to the first floor
plans. We then make any corrections and draft the second floor plan.
Step 4
You make any changes, if any, to the second floor
plans. We again make any suggestions that we think can help.
Step 5
We make any corrections to the second floor plans
and draft the elevations (drawings of front, back and sides).
Step 6
You make changes, if any, to the entire plan. We
again make suggestions that we think can help. We correct the plans. Together with you, we
develop specifications such as type of windows, siding, roofing, flooring, etc., etc.,
etc.
Step 7
If modular, we go to the factory for pricing.
If stick, we send to the lumberyard for a lumber list and pricing. If panelized,
we send to panel company for pricing.
Step 8
Construction Budget Once we get the pricing
from the modular company, lumberyard and/or panel company, we complete the construction
budget and review pricing with you.
This entire 8 step process can take 2 to 3 weeks or
longer based upon a number of factors but most importantly your availability and
quickness of your decisions.
